Whew.

AT LAASSTTT! La Sallian Arts month is over!! what a crazy insanely busy month it's been, so i'm glad to see the end of February and the ingress of the summer sunshine!!

So, where have I been?
EVERYWHERE.
I've been practically living in Taft these past few weeks thanks to several stacked up productions. I'm happy to say I've survived another La Sallian Arts Month.

At the moment there are two significant events that I'm not likely to exclude from my "Stories to tell the kids someday" list. Okay fine, exaggerating a bit but they're definitely two awesome stories!! Here it goes-


Story #1
One of the events of La Sallian Arts Month is a gathering of the incredibly awesome choirs of the different La Salle schools. As fate had it, I was an assistant production manager for this particular event. This year, the featured guest was Mr Jose Mari Chan, singer, songwriter, #1 best-selling album in the Philippines OF ALL TIME. Given that title, you can imagine my shock when I was assigned to be his personal PA for the day!! As in I spent the whole afternoon until the end of the show [around 10pm] hanging out with him! He had all kinds of kwentos, jokes and stuff. He even asked us for some ideas for his next song, and HE TREATED FOR LASAGNA. I ate lasagna paid for by THE Jose Mari Chan. *___*

I was pretty happy to know that despite his immense achievement in the music industry, he's still incredibly down-to-earth and a really nice guy in general. After a while he even went into Parent-mode and wanted to make sure I had a way home before he left for home himself! O___O
Anyway, I'm super grateful to OCA for giving me that awesome day :)

Story #2

I'll keep this one a short as I can :P So part of the LAM was Crossroads, which is the competition of 4 different plays, on 4 consecutive days, each with its own team and cast. My team was for the play Ikaw, Ako, Sila(his). I got to be stage manager once more, which i missed so much since I'm now on the production management team.

Anyway, after several grueling weeks of juggling academics, crossroads and other oca productions, our lovely play came and went in the blink of an eye.
Come Awards Night, the most awesome thing happened--



I WON BEST STAGE MANAGER!!!!!


yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!! I couldn't believe it! It was such a euphoric thing to jump up from my seat and be lost in the hugs of my teammates before going up to the stage to receive the award and give the speech and stuff. It was amazing. To add to the awesomeness, our play won 7 of the 12 awards given that night!! Yay team silahis!! :D I swear, at times like this i just have to say- i love my job. :)



So yeah, midterms loom ahead. here we go.
